Conceptualized over two cups of Starbucks coffee, Double Treble is flourishing as a nationwide concert tour that leaves this dynamic duo in high demand. The concept is simple; if the concert hall isn’t calling, why wait? Call them! Double Treble stands to inspire others to believe that the power to create opportunity lies within one's own hands. Full of excitement, grandeur, and panache, Double Treble hopes to reestablish the relevance of classical music and revolutionize its universal perception.
The tour features the virtuosic artistry of two remarkably electrifying performers: Roderick Demmings, Jr., concert organist and Karl Van Richards, concert pianist. Champions in their own right of the piano-organ duet genre, their collaborations feature many exciting works for piano four hands, organ four hands/four feet, and piano/organ duets. As a special treat, an organ/piano transcription of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”concludes each of their concerts. As aspiring musicians of color, their intent is to inspire other young musicians while promoting the vibrancy and relevance of classical music.
