High Point Community Concert Association Logo

High Point Community Concert Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring wonderful musical performers to our city.  Our seasonal concerts showcase music styles across the classical spectrum, featuring high-caliber performers from multi-faceted backgrounds and genres.

We are a subscription-based organization, allowing subscribers to pay one affordable fee and use tickets for any concert on our season.  We also offer single ticket sales online and at concert venues.  Our ticket prices offer High Point and Triad area residents and their families affordable options to see today’s best talent.

Our 2016-17 season is an exciting combination of talent from our region and far beyond.  We are pleased to present such a wide-variety of artists in different venues in our city.  This year, for the first time, we are delighted to co-sponsor a concert at High Point Theatre, our season-opener, featuring renowned Ukrainian pianist, Alina Kiryayeva.

We invite you to join us for our 82nd Season of great music in High Point!

HPCCA History

Our organization began in 1934, making it one of the oldest Community Concert organizations in the country!  We are quite proud of our heritage and owe a deep debt of gratitude to our community for the generous support afforded to the HPCCA, both in funding and in attendance.

In the earliest years of the HPCCA, our city was coming out of the Great Recession and our town became known as the furniture and textile capital of the world.  Interested community members saw opportunity and the need to organize and promote live music performances.  They set-out to bring the best of classical performers to High Point, and they succeeded.

Among the many wonderful concerts over the past eighty-plus years, the HPCCA has hosted an astounding array of artists.  Large symphony orchestras, note-worthy pianists and instrumentalists, vocal artists ranging from Metropolitan Opera singers to the Welsh Men’s Chorus, splashy ‘big band’ ensembles, and world-class names such as Van Cliburn and the Vienna Choir Boys have all performed in High Point, NC through the HPCCA.  In recent years we have expanded our concerts to include even more cross-over artists and diverse talent to our stages, such as the celebrated Celtic musicians William Jackson and Grainne Hambly.

For many years our concert stage home was High Point University (at that time College) in the old auditorium.  When the High Point Theatre opened its doors in downtown High Point, a showcase for many types of performances and art, the HPCCA moved its concerts to the theatre.  The organization continued to sell-out performances up through the 1970’s.  This was the golden era of the organization – for a time there was even a wait-list for season tickets!

In more recent years, the HPCCA experienced struggles as memberships and funding began to dwindle.  Even so, HPCCA continued to bring excellent music to High Point.  Throughout the changes and challenges, the organization has had the support of very loyal members who purchase memberships and donate to our effort to bring great music to High Point. It is a worthwhile mission, as we strive to meet the demands of changing culture and economy in our town.

Please join us in maintaining the wonderful tradition of great music in our town by supporting the High Point Community Concert Association!

What is a membership?

Purchasing a season membership gives concert goers options for attending our one or more of our concerts.  A season membership also ensures members save money over single ticket purchases. The HPCCA operating budget relies heavily on season memberships to help fund our seasons.  Your membership helps us continue to bring the finest performers to High Point!
